Baseball Game Preview: Wenatchee Panthers vs. Eisenhower Cadets

For the second straight game, Wenatchee will face off against Eisenhower. The Panthers will welcome the Cadets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wenatchee has eight straight wins, Eisenhower has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Wenatchee beats Eisenhower with 18 runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 18-9 margin over the Cadets on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Owen Ervin was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in triples (two). Another player making a difference was Ryan Rainbolt, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Wenatchee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .348 or higher in eight consecutive matchups.

Wenatchee's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Eisenhower, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
