Softball Game Preview: Burlington Demons vs. Elkhorn Elks

For the second straight game, Burlington will face off against Elkhorn. The Demons will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Elks at 4:30 p.m. Burlington's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Burlington came up short against Elkhorn and fell 4-1.

For Elkhorn's part, Veronica Siegler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kendall Kresen, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ellie Jacobson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Burlington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Elkhorn, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
