Baseball Recap: Verrado Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Verrado barely beat Tolleson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Verrado put the hurt on Tolleson with a sharp 13-3 victory on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in February.

Colton Zacher and Eli Bebleh did most of the damage at the plate: Zacher went a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Bebleh scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Those four hits gave Zacher a new career-high.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Verrado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Verrado pushed their record up to 8-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.2 runs. As for Tolleson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8-1.

Looking ahead, Verrado is taking a road trip to square off against San Luis at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Verrado is facing San Luis at the right time seeing as San Luis is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Tolleson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cesar Chavez at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tolleson's pitchers better be ready for this one: Cesar Chavez has averaged an impressive 11.4 runs per game this season.
