Basketball Recap: Whiting Comes Up Short

Whiting was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 64-45 fall against the Boone Grove Wolves. The Oilers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2019.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boone Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Stevens, who posted 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Batesole, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine assists.

Whiting's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Boone Grove, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Whiting didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-21 defeat against Highland on the 26th. As for Boone Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-51 loss against Kankakee Valley on the 26th.
