Basketball Recap: Central Aroostook Takes a Loss

Central Aroostook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-58 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lee Academy Pandas. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pandas earlier this season, when they won 80-58.

Central Aroostook's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Lee Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Central Aroostook Panthers challenge the Katahdin Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lee Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Calais at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lee Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Calais likes a good challenge.
