Softball Recap: Carroll Patriots vs. Badin Rams

Carroll had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-6 to make it six. They came up short against the Badin Rams, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 back in March.

As for Badin, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by ten runs or more this season.

For Badin's part, Phebe Kiefer looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Kiefer a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Judy Harris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jessie Guiliano, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carroll will welcome Stivers School for the Arts at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
