Meanwhile, South Wake waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-56 win over the Flight. Given the Sabres' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Flight are ranked 451st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cary Academy better keep an eye on Noah Wright. He was instrumental in South Wake's win, shooting 5-for-8 from deep and almost dropping a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cannon Cooper, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points.

Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's matchup: Cary Academy has made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having averaged 8.3 three-pointers per game. However, it's not like South Wake struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 three-pointers. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
