Volleyball Recap: Hudson Explorers vs. Hathaway Brown Blazers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wadsworth, Hudson was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Hathaway Brown Blazers.
Hudson had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-12.
Maribeth Slater went supernova, getting nine digs and five aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August. Addison Benoit was another key player, getting nine digs and three aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Hudson was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 21 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Hudson's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Hathaway Brown, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
