Basketball Game Preview: Paw Paw Pirates vs. Berkeley Springs Indians

Paw Paw is 0-6 against Berkeley Springs since January of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Paw Paw Pirates just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Berkeley Springs Indians at 7:00 p.m. Berkeley Springs took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Paw Paw, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Paw Paw was able to grind out a solid victory over Calvary Christian Academy, taking the game 62-54. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 109th in West Virginia, while Calvary Christian Academy are ranked 244th in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Berkeley Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 70-52 to GVCS Broadfording, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Paw Paw's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Berkeley Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Paw Paw might still be hurting after the 75-51 loss they got from Berkeley Springs when the teams last played back in February of 2020. Can Paw Paw avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
