Basketball Game Preview: Argyle Eagles vs. Grapevine Mustangs

The Argyle Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Grapevine Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Tuesday, Argyle was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-51 to Richland. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly six points.

Meanwhile, Grapevine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 50-35 fall against Colleyville Heritage.

This is the second loss in a row for Argyle and nudges their season record down to 11-15. As for Grapevine, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 11-15.

Argyle came up short against Grapevine in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 70-63. Thankfully for Argyle, Matthew E Woodcock (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
