Baseball Recap: Felicity-Franklin Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

It was a proper cat-fight when Felicity-Franklin faced off against Bethel-Tate on Monday. The Cardinals walked away with an 11-7 win over the Tigers. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 10-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Grady Jowers was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Jona Carnahan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Felicity-Franklin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Felicity-Franklin's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Bethel-Tate, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Felicity-Franklin will head out to face off against Georgetown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The G-Men have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.5 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bethel-Tate, they will welcome Reading at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
