After losing to Lanier the last time they met, Cherokee Bluff decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bears came out on top against the Longhorns by a score of 2-0 on Thursday.

While Cherokee Bluff won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-23.

Brooklyn Knight paced Cherokee Bluff's offense, picking up nine kills. Knight got some help from Kailyn Williams and her ten assists. Knight was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Cherokee Bluff is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-12 record this season. As for Lanier, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-16 record this season.

Coincidentally, Cherokee Bluff and Lanier will both be playing Peachtree Ridge the next time they take the court. The Bears will head out to face the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Longhorns will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
