Softball Recap: Fort Dale Academy Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Fort Dale Academy hadn't done well against Hooper Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Eagles came out on top against the Colts by a score of 13-8. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won six contests in a row.

Anna Claire Thomas was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lela Mansmann was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Brinkley Long was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one run and one double.

Fort Dale Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Fort Dale Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-14. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hooper Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
