Top 25 high school basketball scores: Upsets continue as No. 5 Hamilton Heights Christian Academy and No. 6 Minnehaha Academy lose

It is an exciting time for high school basketball fans as postseason play heats up around the country.

The week kicked off Sunday with a Top 25 upset as No. 22  Paul VI (Fairfax, Va.) knocked off then No. 3 DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) 74-65.

The upset trend continued on Tuesday as No. 23 Eden Prairie knocked off No. 6 Minnehaha Academy (Minneapolis) 78-64 in a monster showdown in the Gopher State.

Georgia's AAAAAAA state tournament also continues this week, as No. 2 Grayson defeated Pebblebrook (Mableton) 67-54 Wednesday night to set up a state quarterfinal showdown with Norcross (Ga.) next week.



Friday night saw another shocking upset as The Rock (Gainesville, Fla.) took down No. 5 Hamilton Heights Christian Academy (Chattanooga, Tenn.) 93-83 in overtime.

CIF Open Division Southern Section pool play wrapped up this week as No. 16 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) and Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) advance to next Friday's Southern Section title game. No. 20 Centennial (Corona, Calif.) suffered a pair of losses in pool play.

The Washington Catholic Athletic Conference semifinals are set as No. 9 DeMatha takes on St. John's (Washington, D.C.) and No. 22 Paul VI battles Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) on Sunday.
