Baseball Recap: Meade County Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Meade County proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 15) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the North Oldham Mustangs 6-5. For the Green Waves, this counts as revenge for the 7-4 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Lucas Hail was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Pierce, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meade County's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average this season. As for North Oldham, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Meade County will host Holy Cross at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. Holy Cross has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.11 runs per game on average), something Meade County will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for North Oldham, they will challenge Padua Franciscan at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
