Roseville and Rancho Cotate squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Roseville had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Dustin Holcomb was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April.

At the plate, Roseville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Welch, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Roseville's defeat dropped their record down to 23-12. As for Rancho Cotate, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-13.

As of now, neither Roseville nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
