Basketball Recap: La Joya Community Takes a Loss

On Thursday, the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 64-59 to the Paradise Valley Trojans. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (56), the Fighting Lobos still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, La Joya Community still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Carter, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Carter is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Josiah Hale was another key player, going 6 for 12 on his way to 15 points.

This is the second loss in a row for La Joya Community and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Paradise Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

La Joya Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-60 win against Gila Ridge on the 13th. As for Paradise Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-53 victory against North Canyon on the 13th.
