Basketball Game Preview: Cabrillo Jaguars vs. La Salle Lancers

The Cabrillo Jaguars will head out on the road to challenge the La Salle Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 86-32, which was the final score in Cabrillo's tilt against Long Beach Poly on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Jackrabbits are ranked 36th).

Meanwhile, La Salle strolled past St. Genevieve with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 77-63.

La Salle's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Cabrillo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Cabrillo beat La Salle 71-60 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was La Salle's Emmitt Claiborne, who went 10 for 18 on his way to 30 points.
