Recap: Forest Hills Rangers vs. Tyrone Golden Eagles
The Forest Hills Rangers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They skirted past Tyrone 31-29. For Forest Hills, this counts as revenge for the 35-7 defeat Tyrone walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2014.
Xander Richardson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 139 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Richardson really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run. Forest Hills also got a significant boost from Mason Papinchak, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 88 yards.
Brady Ronan and Ashton Walk certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Ronan gained 112 total yards and three touchdowns, while Walk threw for 249 yards and a touchdown.
Forest Hills' win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points per game. As for Tyrone, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forest Hills will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. River Valley will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Tyrone, they will head out on the road to face off against Waynoka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waynoka presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tyrone in their respective states (Waynoka is ranked 26th in Oklahoma, while Tyrone is ranked 160th in Pennsylvania).
