Basketball Recap: Southwest Comes Up Short

Southwest lost against East Newton back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Southwest Trojans fell 48-40 to the East Newton Patriots.

Southwest's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5. As for East Newton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Southwest will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sarcoxie at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th. East Newton will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against McDonald County at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th.
