Football Game Preview: Somerset Academy Key Lions vs. Saint Andrew's Scots

The Somerset Academy Key Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Saint Andrew's Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Somerset Academy Key has struggled recently with eight losses in a row, while Saint Andrew's will arrive with six straight victories.

On Friday, Somerset Academy Key had to suffer through a 48-8 loss at the hands of Satellite.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saint Andrew's). They blew past Somerset Prep 55-7 two weeks ago. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Scots with their most commanding win of the season.

Somerset Academy Key better keep an eye on Jack Williams. He was instrumental in Saint Andrew's win, throwing for 270 yards and four TDs while completing 72% of his passes, and also punching in one touchdown on the ground. Their leading receiver Wesley Winn was Williams' top target yet again, picking up 139 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Saint Andrew's defense and their eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Madiou Diallo and Jack Whelchel, who racked up four sacks between them. Diallo is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Somerset Academy Key's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Saint Andrew's, their record now sits at 6-0.

Somerset Academy Key was dealt a bruising 35-8 loss at the hands of Saint Andrew's when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Scots' Dylan Faison, who picked up 152 receiving yards and three TDs, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground.
