Basketball Preview: Carvers Bay Bears vs. Johnsonville Flashes
Carvers Bay is 9-1 against the Flashes since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Carvers Bay Bears will be playing at home against the Johnsonville Flashes at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Carvers Bay's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Flashes have been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Wednesday, Carvers Bay didn't have too much trouble with the Wolverines at home as they won 55-36. Carvers Bay pushed the score to 45-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolverines cut but never quite recovered from.
Jerchel Geathers-Washington was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Alana Morris was another key contributor, scoring five points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Johnsonville was beaten by the Bears 51-9 last Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Johnsonville in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost five in a row.
Carvers Bay is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Johnsonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Everything came up roses for Carvers Bay against the Flashes in their previous matchup last Friday as the team secured a 51-9 win. Does Carvers Bay have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Flashes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
