DeForest had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 5-9  on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Monona Grove Silver Eagles  3-2. This was a revenge game for the Norskies: when they faced off against the Silver Eagles  on April 8th, they had to take a  12-8  loss.
As for Monona Grove,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-9. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by  just one  run.
For Monona Grove's part,  Brooklyn Vanden Branden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
 On the hitting side, Monona Grove saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kaleia Knothe, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  triple and one  stolen base.
