Baseball Recap: Jackson's Undefeated Season over After 18 Games

Jackson was the 15-7 winner over Athens when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Ironman/Ironladies took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Saturday. The loss was the Ironman/Ironladies' first of the season.

Jackson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Ernst, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jackson fell to 17-1. As for Athens, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.

Looking ahead, Jackson will challenge Walsh Jesuit at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Ironman/Ironladies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Athens, they will square off against Nelsonville-York at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Buckeyes at the right time seeing as the Buckeyes are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
