Baseball Recap: East Lansing Comes Up Short

East Lansing was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 10-3 to the Okemos Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-2 on Thursday.

Lincoln Summerhill and Jean-Michael Smith did some serious damage despite the final result: Summerhill went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run, while Smith went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double. Those stolen bases were Summerhill's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Paul Van Dam, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

East Lansing's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Okemos, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Lansing will welcome St. Joseph at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Okemos, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Holt at 4:00 p.m.
