Baseball Recap: Fox Lane Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Fox Lane waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Harrison Huskies. That's more bragging rights for the Foxes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sean Singleton and Max Polinsky made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Singleton struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Polinsky pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave Singleton a new career-high. At bat, Singleton went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Polinsky got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. Fox Lane is 2-1 when Singleton posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Janak Bain was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Joseph Rodriguez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Fox Lane hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.

Fox Lane's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Harrison, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Fox Lane will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Huskies: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
