Football Recap: Lee Legends vs. New Buffalo Bison
Friday just wasn't the day for Lee's offense. They had to suffer through a 60-0 loss at the hands of the New Buffalo Bison. The Legends' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
New Buffalo found their leader in sophomore Colten Lijewski, who threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 106 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Lijewski also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making six total tackles in addition to snagging an interception. August Johnson was another key player, gaining 108 total yards and a touchdown.
Lee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for New Buffalo, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lee will venture away from home to face off against Godwin Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Buffalo, they will square off against Fennville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bison will be up against the Blackhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
