The South Stokes Sauras will take on the Providence Grove Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. South Stokes is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

South Stokes fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against East Wilkes on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 8-7. The Sauras have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Levi Bailey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Monday, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Providence Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Southern Alamance by a score of 5-2 on Wednesday.

Andrew Thomas made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jackson Lawver was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Chase Collins, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

South Stokes' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Providence Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
