Basketball Recap: Make It 12 in a Row for Veritas Christian Academy

Veritas Christian Academy came tearing into Monday's game with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past The Master's Academy Lions 50-15. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Lions are ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Veritas Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Miller, who posted 13 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Miller has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 27 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kendall Burroughs, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 14 points.

Veritas Christian Academy pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.9 points per game. As for The Master's Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.
