It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but New Philadelphia ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Saturday. They won by a  run and slipped past the Tri-Valley Scotties  5-4. That's two games straight that the Quakers have won by  just one  run.
 Olivia Jackson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
 At the plate,  Ellie Mason was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in April of 2024.  Sidney Vandall was another key player,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4.
New Philadelphia has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Tri-Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
 New Philadelphia and Tri-Valley will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. New Philadelphia will  take on  rival Lexington  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tri-Valley is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Maysville  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
