Calvary Christian Academy and Bristol are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Cougars will face off against the Warriors at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Calvary Christian Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Things were looking good for Calvary Christian Academy after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of The Pilgrim Academy by a score of 4-3.
Caleb Rose put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Kenneth Davis was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. That run was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bristol). They put the hurt on Church Farm with a sharp 16-1 win on Monday. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Like Calvary Christian Academy, Bristol also got a great game from a two-way player: Hayden Scancella. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Scancella was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Eddy Diaz was a standout: he scored three runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Cole Guy was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Bristol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Church Farm only posted an OBP of .333.
The win got Bristol back to even at 2-2. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Calvary Christian Academy came up short against Bristol in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
