Baseball Recap: Clarksville Takes a Loss

Clarksville had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-19 to make it five. They lost 16-6 to the Trinity Lutheran Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Generals of the 13-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Jayden Arnold was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Talon Moore, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

As for Trinity Lutheran, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

On Trinity Lutheran's side, the team relied heavily on Nathan Finke, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Finke has become a key player for the Cougars: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-11 otherwise. Brady Sawyer also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Clarksville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-2 win against Crothersville on the 26th. As for Trinity Lutheran, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-5 loss against Rising Sun on the 28th.
