The Ponderosa Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Regis Jesuit Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ponderosa has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since September 2.
On Tuesday, Ponderosa came up short against Heritage and fell 3-1. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-20 in the first set.
Ponderosa started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-13.

Despite the loss, Ponderosa had strong showings from Kylie Paul, who had eight digs and three aces, and Brooklynn McClain, who had 20 digs and two assists. McClain has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last five times she's played. Merry Sung also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Meanwhile, Regis Jesuit came up short against Rock Canyon on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Raiders have suffered against the Jaguars since October 4, 2018.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-20.
Ponderosa's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Regis Jesuit, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Ponderosa might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Regis Jesuit when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
