Recap: Carbon Hill Bulldogs vs. Dora Bulldogs
It was a good run, but the Carbon Hill Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. Their rough 63-37 defeat to Dora might stick with them for a while. Carbon Hill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dora apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Dora's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bella Reese led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Reese has scored at least 25% of Dora's points. Lyria Meadows was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Carbon Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Dora, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 6-3 record.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carbon Hill will take on Winfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Winfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Carbon Hill is ranked 154th). As for Dora, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Oakman at 5:30 p.m. on December 8th.
