Volleyball Recap: Chaparral's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Chaparral had lost three straight headed into Friday's game, but Shay Roddy didn't let it get to four. The Pumas came out on top against the Colony Titans by a score of 2-0 on Friday thanks in part to Roddy, who had 11 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Chaparral was: they took both sets by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-12.

Chaparral's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Colony, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Chaparral and Colony will both be playing Chino Hills the next time they take the court. The Pumas will head out to face the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Titans will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
