Anderson County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Burlington Wildcats 3-2. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.
Brayden Wheat spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, Anderson County's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rigin Jasper, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two hits gave Jasper a new career-high.
Anderson County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Burlington: the pair will be back at it again later today.
