Basketball Recap: Wakulla War Eagles vs. Gadsden County Jaguars
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Wakulla War Eagles can now relate to. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 62-39 walloping at the hands of the Jaguars on Monday. Wakulla has struggled against the Jaguars recently, as their match on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Wakulla saw an underclassman step up: Amariyah Donaldson dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Donaldson is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Xzaveria Robinson, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Wakulla's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Gadsden County, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Wakulla does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gadsden County's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cougars on February 7th. Godby presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Jaguars in Florida (the Cougars are ranked 229th, while the Jaguars are ranked 470th).
