Staples-Motley came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Barnesville Trojans.

Colbe Tappe was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Staples-Motley's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 3-6-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Elijah Kossan, who went 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Staples-Motley pushed their record up to 6-6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Barnesville, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
