Football Recap: Attleboro Comes Up Short

Attleboro had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-2 to make it six. They were dealt a 51-12 defeat at the hands of the Bishop Feehan Shamrocks. While losing is never fun, the Bombardiers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 17th).

As for Bishop Feehan, they now have a winning record of 2-1. They haven't had any issues with Attleboro recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Bishop Feehan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Owen Mordas out in front who threw for 333 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 14.5 yards per attempt. Those 333 passing yards gave Mordas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Orphanos, who gained 131 total yards and two touchdowns.

Attleboro will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bridgewater-Raynham at 6:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Bishop Feehan, they will head out to challenge St. Mary's at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Shamrocks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
