Basketball Recap: Mission Vista Takes a Loss

Mission Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Escondido Charter Tigers, falling 78-56. If Mission Vista was looking for revenge after losing 77-73 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Escondido Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joe Scates led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Scates is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Max Mowrey was another key player, going 11 of 16 en route to 28 points along with six boards and three steals.

Mission Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Escondido Charter, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-11.

Mission Vista didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-54 loss against Canyon Crest Academy on the 15th. Escondido Charter has also already played their next game (against Tri-City Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
