Softball Recap: Immanuel Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Immanuel can now relate to. They fell just short of the Bakersfield Drillers by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Amanda Herrera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

Immanuel's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6-2. As for Bakersfield, their win bumped their record up to 9-15.

Immanuel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bakersfield, they will venture away from home to take on Sanger West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Drillers surely won't give up without a fight.
