Palma had lost nine games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 6-14-1 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the North Salinas Vikings get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-2 back in April.
The result came thanks to Sophia Cardinale's shutout, as she gave up just seven hits.
At the plate, Analysia Rocha was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
As for North Salinas, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
On North Salinas' side, Makayla O'Gan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Gabriela Perez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one stolen base.
Palma didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-1 win against Everett Alvarez on the 14th. North Salinas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
