Volleyball Recap: Aniyah Price Key Part of Team Effort in Angels Win

St. Catherine hadn't done well against Martin Luther recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Angels had just enough and edged out the Spartans 3-2. For the Angels, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

St. Catherine's was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (105-101), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 23-25, 13-25, 15-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Catherine's to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aniyah Price, who had 12 digs, eight kills, and five aces. That's the most digs Price has posted over her last four contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Londyn Pardo, who had four digs and four aces.

The win made it two in a row for St. Catherine's and bumps their season record up to 5-7. As for Martin Luther, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

St. Catherine's has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Milwaukee King on the 20th. As for Martin Luther, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Carmen Northwest on the 20th.
