Basketball Recap: Hickory Comes Up Short

Hickory was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the King's Fork Bulldogs and fell 61-22. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 11th).

Hickory's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for King's Fork, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Hickory didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-34 defeat against Deep Creek on the 10th. As for King's Fork, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-43 victory against Western Branch on the 10th.
