The home team had come away the winner the last three times Green Hope and Apex had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Falcons walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Cougars on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Falcons have beaten the Cougars on their field since March 6, 2023.

Elijah Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Troy Haynes, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Green Hope's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Apex, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Green Hope will have a chance to go back-to-back against Apex: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
