Basketball Recap: Academy of Central Florida Golden Bulls vs. DME Academy
Academy of Central Florida kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a hard 67-52 fall against DME Academy.
GiGi Battle was a one-man wrecking crew for DME Academy as she went 14 for 25 en route to 31 points plus seven rebounds and three steals. Leyla Minor was another key player, scoring eight points in addition to two steals.
The win (which was DME Academy's fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academy of Central Florida will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jordan Christian Prep on December 20th. As for DME Academy, they will be playing at home against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
