Volleyball Recap: Piper Wesner and Hattie Frievalt Secure Win for Crivitz

Crivitz waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Niagara Badgers as they made off with a 3-0 win. For the Wolverines, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Badgers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Crivitz never let Niagara on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-10, 25-23.

Leading Crivitz to victory were Hattie Frievalt and Piper Wesner. Frievalt had 12 assists and five digs, while Wesner had five digs and two assists. That's the most digs Wesner has posted over her last six games. Marli Meyers also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Crivitz was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They are a perfect 4-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Crivitz's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Niagara, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Crivitz will take on rival Gillett at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Niagara is set to face off against their familiar foe Lena at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
