Basketball Recap: Shelton Chargers vs. Bishop Gorman Crusaders

Shelton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were beaten by the Bishop Gorman Crusaders 43-14. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1533rd, while the Crusaders are ranked 714th).

Bishop Gorman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amelia Meads out in front who posted ten points and five boards. Meads has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Abigail West was another key player, putting up six points and eight rebounds.

Shelton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Bishop Gorman, they pushed their record up to 16-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Shelton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Gorman, they are taking a road trip to square off against McKinney Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. McKinney Christian Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Bishop Gorman surely won't give up without a fight.
