Baseball Recap: Bellwood-Antis Has No Trouble Against Juniata Valley

Bellwood-Antis came out on top against Juniata Valley on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run seventh inning. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 15-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won four in a row.

Bellwood-Antis got a great performance from Tristin Mock as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Mock has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tanner Swogger was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Dorminy, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.

Bellwood-Antis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bellwood-Antis' record is now 8-11. As for Juniata Valley, they moved to 9-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Bellwood-Antis will take on Huntingdon at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Juniata Valley, they will square off against Glendale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
