Soccer Recap: Pittsburg Has No Trouble Against Independent

Pittsburg's game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They blew past the Independent Panthers 4-1. Considering Pittsburg have won five matchups by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Independent with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alyssa Hotze (2), Diana Delgado, and Kassandra Barreda-Rivera.

Pittsburg's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Independent, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pittsburg will challenge McAuley Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Independent, they will square off against Collegiate on Monday.
